Edison State Community College and Wilson Health have launched an Earn and Learn Medical Assistant Apprenticeship that combines classroom education with paid, hands-on clinical training. Participants earn wages while completing the education needed for certification and gaining real-world experience. Piqua, Ohio – July 29, 2026 – Edison State Community College has partnered with Wilson Health to introduce an Earn and Learn Medical Assistant Apprenticeship that combines classroom instruction with paid workplace training.

The initiative expands opportunities for aspiring medical assistants while supporting the region’s health care workforce needs. Participants earn a wage while gaining practical clinical experience and completing the education required to become certified medical assistants.

Apprentices will complete classroom instruction at Edison State while participating in supervised on-the-job training at Wilson Health. The program prepares participants to take the Certified Medical Assistant examination administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants while developing practical clinical skills and gaining valuable professional experience.
