WINKLER, MB – August 20, 2026 – The Rezidue Reaper, a Sharp Harvest tool invented by Tanner Schoff, has been named Harvesting Equipment of the Year by AgTech Breakthrough. Since partnering with Thunderstruck Ag earlier this year, the farmer-focused agricultural equipment company has brought the Rezidue Reaper to market, supporting Sharp Harvest’s marketing and sales efforts. As a result, Schoff’s invention has reached the hands of hundreds of farmers worldwide.

The recognition points to a shift in how farmers handle one of their most time-consuming jobs. Rather than improving an existing task, the Rezidue Reaper eliminates one, folding residue management into the harvest pass and giving farmers real savings in time, fuel, and labor, plus healthier fields heading into spring.

“I come from six generations of farmers, so building something that actually makes their lives easier matters more to me than any award,” said Tanner Schoff, inventor of the Rezidue Reaper. “But having it recognized this way tells me we took a problem farmers have lived with for decades and actually fixed it.”

A Growing Problem in Every Field

As yields climb, so does the residue left behind. High-yield corn can leave 5 to 6 tons of material per acre, and most operations clear it with a separate tillage pass after harvest, adding cost, fuel, time, and labor to an already tight window.

The Rezidue Reaper removes that step. Built for row-crop, strip-till, and no-till farmers handling heavy residue from corn, soybeans, and wheat, it mounts to the corn head and breaks down stalks and root balls as the combine moves, preparing the field for the next crop in a single pass.

The award follows Thunderstruck Ag’s recognition on Fast Company’s 2026 World’s Most Innovative Companies list. “At Thunderstruck Ag, we’re committed to finding innovative products and bringing farmers solutions that actually make them more profitable,” said Jeremy Matuszewski, founder and CEO of Thunderstruck Ag. “The Rezidue Reaper is exactly that, and having it recognized this way tells us we’re delivering on that commitment.”
