How to Buy Gold for a Massive Return on Investment in 2021

Financial expert Ken Poirot, who oversaw the investment of billions in client assets, shares how to buy gold and how to invest in gold for an incredible return on investment in 2021.

According to Ken Poirot’s article titled, How to Buy Gold: How to Invest in Gold, he states, “Owning physical gold is the best way to buy and invest in gold.” In this article he also reveals where to buy gold and the mistakes the average investor might make when investing in gold.

As Ken Poirot explains, “Rather than investing in physical gold, many investors attempt to pick the best gold mining stocks, ETFs, or even try the gold futures market; all these alternatives to physical gold investing could cost investors their potential return on investment.”

In contrast, Ken Poirot says, “When investing in gold, it is best to keep it simple: buy physical gold.”

Furthermore, Ken Poirot documents in his recent article, Gold: Investing in Gold?, “More and more Wall Street gold analysts are coming forward with bullish forecasts for the future price of gold…analysts say $3,000 is assured; $10,000 is likely; $20,000 is possible.” To put these predictions in perspective, today gold is trading at less than $2000 an ounce.

Just like most gold analysts, Ken Poirot has also increased his predicted future return on investment for gold as recorded in a recent press release, Money: Investing in Gold for a Huge Return on Investment in 2021.

Ken Poirot cites the global recession, the crumbling US economy, China’s looming economic collapse, and the Fed’s new willingness to let inflation rise unabated all as factors contributing to higher gold prices. For these reasons he believes investors may double their money by investing in gold over the next year.

The Lexington site is the third Schneider Electric factory to receive this honor for success in adopting 4IR technologies at scale with demonstrated benefits to date. Schneider Electric’s factory in Batam, Indonesia site was selected in 2019 and the site in Le VaudreuilFrance was selected in 2018. Two additional sites, Showcase-Monterrey, Mexico and Wuhan, China, have also been designated as Developing Lighthouse facilities.

The more than 60-year old Lexington facility was the first of Schneider Electric’s U.S. plants to become a Smart Factory showcase site. Exemplifying “brownfield” innovation, it integrates Schneider Electric’s IIoT-based EcoStruxure solutions, providing the latest in digital tools, including augmented reality, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance, to drive energy efficiency, sustainability and overall cost savings, while offering increasing agility and resiliency within the operation.

“Manufacturing organizations around the world are facing new challenges arising from the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn, combined with the ever-growing threat of climate change,” said Annette Clayton, president and CEO of Schneider Electric, North America. “Schneider Electric is proof of IIoT’s power to positively impact the bottom line and further sustainability goals. Being part of the global Lighthouse network allows us to share our knowledge and collaborate with industry peers to bring about greater sustainability and resilience for organizations so that we can recover and thrive amidst periods of adversity.”

The Lexington facility has deployed a digital energy management strategy leveraging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity, Edge-based descriptive analytics and Cloud-based predictive analytics to drive efficiencies across their operation. Schneider Electric announces multi-million dollar investment in machine learning tools and data science

Schneider Electric announced the impact of a new multi-million dollar investment in machine learning tools and data science. This investment brings AI-assisted advising to its energy and sustainability services offer, giving its clients access to next-generation digital tools. This improves the insights and analysis of a company’s energy and sustainability portfolio, driving more efficient value and bottom-line impact in pursuit of climate change resilience and other resource-reduction related targets.

The investment optimizes corporate resource consumption and reduction data during the dramatic worldwide energy and climate transition. Most companies today still face data challenges that limit their sustainability approach. Companies struggle with inconsistent, incomplete, overabundant, and poor-quality resource consumption and cost data. The introduction of AI allows companies to get more value out of the data they produce and provides more accurate and efficient analysis as the foundation of an energy and sustainability strategy.

Continuing to add machine learning and data science to Schneider Electric’s decades long legacy in traditional energy and sustainability consulting enhances clients’ approach to how they source and procure energy and manage resources. This investment in technology will enable clients to benefit from improved predictive capabilities and enhanced insights. The enhancements will more rapidly convert data into meaningful insights, better tailor recommendations to the needs of clients, and better support clients in reaching long-term environmental goals. Users will also be able to draw more confident conclusions that help reduce costs, manage risks, harvest opportunities, and build resilience into their sustainability strategy.

Steve Wilhite, Senior Vice President, Schneider Electric, said, “We see tremendous opportunity to use the data and insights generated by organizations today to drive more than just operational benefits. This data, combined with the expertise of our global team, can significantly enhance how companies approach sustainability. A mind-plus-machine approach has already proven itself for applications in financial advising and traditional business consulting. We’ve found that collaborative intelligence produced by this newest class of technology, in conjunction with our world-class consultants, helps our clients create a sustainability-based competitive advantage.”

The company’s investment in next-generation services leads to new opportunities for clients across industries, while simultaneously augmenting existing offers, like the company’s best-in-class EcoStruxure Resource AdvisorÔ solution. Enabled capabilities include:

  • More tailored data paired with more customized, expedited recommendations
  • New enhancements to manage distributed energy resources (DERs), commodity hedges, and connected devices
  • Enhanced data collection processes, including Robotic Process Automation, that allow for the spotting of errors and detection of new savings opportunities more quickly and thoroughly than before
  • Better real-time resilience and reliability of energy portfolios
  • Mobile-optimized views for always-on, anytime information access

“This investment is the result of listening and responding to our client needs and capitalizing on cutting edge technologies. The result is an enhanced framework to help us address energy demand, resource efficiency, and procurement on a level playing field, in a unified way for our customers,” closed Wilhite. “It also frees our team to connect differently with our clients. By automating our data processes and animating our clients’ results with advanced visualizations, decision-making is augmented and accelerated. Our teams lead our clients to faster, more innovative, and more sustainable solutions in this age of climate urgency, with a healthier bottom-line as a byproduct, and that’s a win-win for everyone.”

Walmart and Schneider Electric collaborate on access to renewable energy

Walmart Inc. and Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, have announced a new collaboration that will provide increased access to renewable energy for Walmart’s US-based suppliers, enabling them to lead on climate action. The initiative, called the Gigaton PPA (GPPA) Programme, is designed to educate Walmart suppliers about renewable energy purchases and accelerate renewable energy adoption by participating suppliers through aggregate power purchase agreements (PPA).

The programme directly supports Walmart’s Project Gigaton, which aims to avoid 1 Gt (1 billion t) of carbon dioxide from Walmart’s global value chain by 2030. To date, more than 2300 suppliers from 50 countries are participating in Project Gigaton. Suppliers have reported a cumulative 230 million t of avoided emissions since 2017 – more than 20% of the goal – through energy, waste, packaging, agriculture, forests, and product use and design.

“The Gigaton PPA Programme is the kind of innovation-in-action needed to help our suppliers take the next step towards low-carbon emissions, helping to build a more sustainable future for our communities,” said Zach Freeze, Senior Director, Sustainability at Walmart. “Through Schneider Electric’s work with our suppliers, the programme aims to democratise access to renewable energy, and accelerate its use with our supplier base.”

While corporate renewable energy procurement is on the rise, the overall number of companies involved is still relatively low, with just over 100 unique companies participating in the US renewable energy market since 2008, according to the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance Deal Tracker. Some of the challenges to accessing renewable energy experienced by smaller companies include a lack of size needed to approach the market individually, insufficient education on the specific mechanics of renewable energy transactions and guidance on how to secure renewable energy.

The GPPA initiative was designed to help overcome these barriers, making it possible for more companies to learn about energy purchases, access renewable energy, reduce emissions and increase their ability to contribute towards Project Gigaton. The GPPA programme works by educating participants on the renewable energy market, providing guidance on the projects, and bringing together interested companies to contract for renewable energy as a cohort, leveraging the size of the group to achieve an economy of scale. Walmart will serve as the convening champion for the programme, inviting suppliers to join.

The company has collaborated with Schneider Electric’s Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) to run the GPPA Program, utilising Schneider Electric’s NEO Network™, a global collaboration platform and community of more than 300 corporate renewable energy purchasers and solution providers. Schneider Electric’s team of leading renewable energy experts will engage participating Walmart suppliers and facilitate a multi-phase education and project selection process to advance supplier progress towards the execution of aggregated renewable energy purchases. Schneider Electric’s ESS is the largest global consultant on corporate renewable purchasing, having advised companies, including Walmart, on over 100 utility-scale PPA purchases across North America, Europe, India, Australia and Latin America for a total of more than 8000 MW of wind and solar power.

“It is our honour to work with Walmart on this revolutionary programme,” said Steve Wilhite, Senior Vice President, Schneider Electric. “The company is demonstrating significant leadership by increasing access to utility-scale renewable energy opportunities for their suppliers as part of the Project Gigaton ambition. The GPPA programme aims to bring a significant amount of new wind and solar to the grid at a time when climate action is most urgent.”

For more than a decade, Walmart has been working with suppliers, NGOs and others to inspire positive change across global supply chains. In its own operations, Walmart has set a goal to be powered 50% by renewable energy by 2025 and currently the company powers an estimated 29% of its operations with renewable energy. Walmart and Schneider Electric are also members of the Renewable Energy Buyer’s Alliance, a coalition that brings together purchasers and suppliers of renewable energy to make the process of transitioning to cleaner energy sources easier.

The imbalance between northbound and southbound trucks across the United States-Mexico border is causing one of the toughest capacity shortages in decades.

Officials at Redwood Mexico said they continue to see a crunch in northbound capacity because of the imbalance in Mexico’s northbound and southbound volumes. Redwood Mexico is a division of Chicago-based Redwood Logistics.

“It’s been 20 years since I think we’ve seen this level of severity of an imbalance this severe past what would be a traditional peak season, May to early July,” said Troy Ryley, president of Redwood Mexico. “The only things I think that have affected capacity more were the China tariffs and the devaluation of the Mexican peso that happened back in the early 1990s.”

Jordan Dewart, a manager director at Redwood Mexico based in Laredo, Texas, said he doesn’t foresee the capacity crunch disappearing anytime soon.

“The factors that are causing this are not going to go away like a hurricane,” Dewart said. “A hurricane comes in, does damage and then you see the result. We’re really projecting this to be a prolonged situation.”

In recent weeks, there have been days where only five or six trucks were available and 800 loads needed to be shipped in markets like Laredo, Ryley said.

He said the capacity crunch starts with a lack of available trucks in Mexico, which affects border cities such as Laredo and El Paso, Texas.

“You see a lot of equipment waiting in Laredo to go northbound,” Ryley said. “Markets such as Dallas, Houston and San Antonio are affected most because they’re short runs and then you end up with a higher premium in order to attract carriers to carry that type of trade.”

The U.S. domestic trucking market has been extremely tight, with shippers paying higher freight charges for domestic moves.

“Demand is simply outstripping capacity right now and nothing points to that changing anytime soon. Accepted tenders remain at a historically high level, and carriers are exercising their options in searching for the highest rates and best loads,” according to FreightWaves research analyst Andrew Cox.

Spot rates increased almost 10% this week on a national level to $2.89 per mile, according to Truckstop.com. Of the 100 lane pairings in FreightWaves’ SONAR platform, spot rates increased in all but 13 lanes this past week.

“One of the comments that was made to me is that the spot rate levels are so high right now, that it’s hard for a driver not to be on the road and take advantage of this money-making opportunity that’s out there based on lack of trucks on the road,” Ryley said.

Ryley said shippers need to look at logistics companies as partners during this capacity crunch.

“This is a bad time to treat your logistics company as a vendor,” Ryley said. “This is a time to be partnering with a company that’s going to be looking at, not just your interest short term, but a long-term partnership with you, because that’s what’s going to keep you out of just being dictated by the spot rate market, which today we’ve seen is quite high.”

Schneider Electric expands in Tijuana

Schneider Electric will invest $5.7 million to expand its manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico.

Once the expansion is complete, the plant will add 1,200 new jobs, for a total of 3,780 jobs in Tijuana.

Schneider Electric manufactures switchgears at its Tijuana plant, which are used in electric power systems that function as circuit breakers, according to the company’s website.

Schneider produces around 40 million switchgears per year at the plant. Most of the parts manufactured in Tijuana are used in Mexico, the U.S. and Canada. Walmart is one of the company’s largest customers in the U.S.

Schneider Electric, founded in 1836, is based in Paris. The company employs 135,000 people worldwide.

Ceva Logistics expands in Latin America

Global freight forwarder Ceva Logistics recently opened offices in Ecuador and Uruguay.

The new offices are part of the company’s strategic expansion across the Latin American markets, according to a release.

Ceva Logistics will establish air, ocean and ground transportation operations in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The company said it has already established multimodal operations in Ecuador’s capital city of Quito.

Ceva Logistics’ teams in Ecuador will serve existing customers and develop business solutions for the perishables, consumer, and oil and gas sectors. Ecuador also offers access to key export markets in Colombia and Peru.

In Uruguay, Ceva’s head office will be in Montevideo. The company will serve customers in agriculture and livestock farming, while focusing on exports such as rice, citrus fruits, wood, leather, meat and dairy products.

Uruguay is a logistics hub and a main point of departure for ocean traffic, especially for shipments to and from Brazil and Paraguay, the company said in a release.

New highway will boost Mexico’s automotive industry

Mexican officials recently inaugurated a new stretch of highway aimed at boosting connectivity of the country’s central region to other parts of Mexico.

The new highway starting in the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí will connect to Mexican Highway 80 San Luis-Arriaga. The new route is aimed at improving the connectivity of the Mexican states of Jalisco, San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato. The area is known as the Bajío region in central Mexico.

The region is one of Mexico’s largest automotive production clusters, with more than 326 automotive-related companies generating around 446,000 jobs, according to the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).

Walmart and Schneider Electric Announced Groundbreaking Collaboration to Help Suppliers Access Renewable Energy

Gigaton PPA Program is designed to educate Walmart suppliers about renewable energy purchases and accelerate renewable energy adoption by participating suppliers through aggregate power purchase agreements.

Walmart Inc. and Schneider Electric announced a new collaboration that will provide increased access to renewable energy for Walmart’s U.S.-based suppliers, enabling them to lead on climate action. The initiative, called the Gigaton PPA (GPPA) Program, is designed to educate Walmart suppliers about renewable energy purchases and accelerate renewable energy adoption by participating suppliers through aggregate power purchase agreements (PPA).

The program directly supports Walmart’s Project Gigaton, which aims to avoid one gigaton (one billion metric tons) of carbon dioxide from Walmart’s global value chain by 2030. To date, more than 2,300 suppliers from 50 countries are participating in Project Gigaton. Suppliers have reported a cumulative 230 million metric tons of avoided emissions since 2017 – more than 20% of the goal – through energy, waste, packaging, agriculture, forests and product use and design.

“The Gigaton PPA Program is the kind of innovation-in-action needed to help our suppliers take the next step towards low-carbon emissions, helping to build a more sustainable future for our communities,” said Zach Freeze, Senior Director, Sustainability at Walmart. “Through Schneider Electric’s work with our suppliers, the program aims to democratize access to renewable energy and accelerate its use with our supplier base.”

While corporate renewable energy procurement is on the rise, the overall number of companies involved is still relatively low, with just over 100 unique companies participating in the U.S. renewable energy market since 2008, according to the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance Deal Tracker.

The GPPA program works by educating participants on the renewable energy market, providing guidance on the projects and bringing together interested companies to contract for renewable energy as a cohort, leveraging the size of the group to achieve an economy of scale. Walmart will serve as the convening champion for the program, inviting suppliers to join.

The company has collaborated with Schneider Electric’s Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) to run the GPPA Program, utilizing Schneider Electric’s NEO Network™, a global collaboration platform and community of more than 300 corporate renewable energy purchasers and solution providers. Schneider Electric’s team of leading renewable energy experts will engage participating Walmart suppliers and facilitate a multi-phase education and project selection process to advance supplier progress towards the execution of aggregated renewable energy purchases. Schneider Electric’s ESS is the largest global consultant on corporate renewable purchasing, having advised companies, including Walmart, on over 100 utility-scale PPA purchases across North America, Europe, India, Australia and Latin America for a total of more than 8,000 megawatts of wind and solar power.

“It is our honor to work with Walmart on this revolutionary program,” said Steve Wilhite, Senior Vice President, Schneider Electric. “The company is demonstrating significant leadership by increasing access to utility-scale renewable energy opportunities for their suppliers as part of the Project Gigaton ambition. The GPPA program aims to bring a significant amount of new wind and solar to the grid at a time when climate action is most urgent.”

For more than a decade, Walmart has been working with suppliers, NGOs and others to inspire positive change across global supply chains. In its own operations, Walmart has set a goal to be powered 50% by renewable energy by 2025, and currently the company powers an estimated 29% of its operations with renewable energy. Walmart and Schneider Electric are also members of the Renewable Energy Buyer’s Alliance, a coalition that brings together purchasers and suppliers of renewable energy to make the process of transitioning to cleaner energy sources easier.
